Selective Criteria: Applicants must have basic North Carolina law enforcement certification by October 1, 2022 or meet all requirements for a training exemption from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, as outlined in 12 NCAC 09B .0403. Applicants seeking a Veteran`s preference must include a DD-214 Member 4 form, a certificate of release or release from active duty. Candidates seeking a National Guard preference must join an NGB 23A (RPAS) if they are a member in good standing of the NC National Guard. The SBI officer must be in physical condition and maintain certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission for law enforcement officers. SBI Officer I – salary group GN11; Recruitment rate: $47,384 * SBI Associate Officer – GN10 salary class; Recruitment rate: $44,492*. The SBI Officer is expected to adopt an appropriate standard of care that meets professional standards and expectations, and to take pride in his or her personal appearance and professional nature. Bachelor`s degree from a duly accredited institution and one year of experience in law enforcement, including the power of arrest; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
