The course also counts Earned Experiential Learning (APEL), which in this case includes no less than 2 years of proven professional experience as a qualified lawyer, which can be two-thirds of the LLM. Students will then “top-up” these credits with a thesis or paper that is studied and supplemented by distance learning to earn the LLM degree. APEL accreditation is granted solely at the discretion of the instructor. This SQE 1 preparatory course offers the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised Master`s qualification, which is also eligible for UK Government Postgraduate Loan. It provides you with everything you need to have the best chance of success SQE while developing the professional skills that really matter to employers. You will take three elective courses. You can choose from a range of subject combinations that have been specifically tailored to potential business areas. Please note that this course may reach its maximum capacity before the start of the course, resulting in early closure. We recommend that you submit your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Assessments are designed to fit into the course as a whole. We evaluate each stage of LPC content through assessments at the end of this phase.
You will be assessed on a competent/incompetent basis in any skill designed to establish competence. You will be assessed by exam in each of the three compulsory and elective courses (your own prescribed subjects are allowed in the exams). Among students who aspire to a legal career, the majority opt for the lawyer`s career path. Some students choose to become lawyers, but the number is quite small. Participation in the Law Society`s legal practice course or professional training does not guarantee you a training or training contract. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be admitted to the bar and move on to high school. Our nine-month BTC LLM offers you the opportunity to earn the award of a Master`s degree (LLM), provided the BTC is successfully completed, and an additional module, Advanced Advocacy, Advice and ADR, created to give you experience on topics that are at the forefront of practice, such as at-risk witnesses and expert evidence. Nottingham Law School offers an LLM (Master in Law) award through distance learning to complement professional legal qualifications or experience. The skills of the course are advocacy, interviewing, research, writing and design and these are often considered the most challenging and hopefully rewarding elements of the course. We attach particular importance to the writing skills of research, writing and drawing; We take seriously the concerns of many companies about the ability of trainees to cope with this type of work in the first phase of their training contract.

It culminates in an apprenticeship contract and we can provide you with the necessary support to give you the best possible start in your legal career: The course begins with a short core programme in Professional Conduct and Regulation, Research, Corporate Accounts and Taxation, taught alongside the provision of Core Practice Areas (CPAs). Students who choose the Professional Legal Practice module will also conduct workshops for this module at this stage. Teaching and learning within CPAs builds on the knowledge and skills acquired during your undergraduate law studies and incorporates the LPC competencies and ubiquitous topics introduced into the core curriculum to ensure you are continuously practicing and developing your professional legal knowledge and skills.
Theoretical material is kept to a minimum and the focus is usually on practice and feedback to develop the skills you need to enter the profession. We are confident that our LLM Legal Practice (LLM LPC) course will provide you with the best training currently available – we have an excellent reputation in the legal profession. We set these minimum entry requirements, but we will evaluate you individually for your ability to benefit from the course.
