However, it is extremely vague with the details and it is obvious that the confession is false. Because of his crushing guilt for incest, Aidan confessed to the murder as punishment for himself. When Cragen wonders aloud if Aidan is also punishing his mother, Huang realizes that there is another reason for Aidan`s confession. In a conversation with Huang, Aidan says there is nothing they can do to prove that he didn`t kill his father. When the subject turns to Shannon, Aidan mentions how happy he was with her and how much they were in love, but now that he knows she was his sister, he wishes he could have shot himself instead. Debra Connor understands her husband`s strange behavior and Susan`s reluctance to spend time with her, realizing that Barry Coyle has always been an elaborate lie. Unfortunately, Cragen tells him that they must inform Aidan to solve Jason`s murder. Elliot takes Aidan to an interrogation room and does his best to publicize his father`s secret life, Shannon`s exact relationship with Aidan, and the pregnancy. After hearing this, Aidan suffers a severe nervous breakdown.
When Aidan starts vomiting, Huang explains that you can`t fake this kind of physical reaction after killing. Olivia arrives with the news that Susan and Brian were arrested south of Montreal before crossing the Canadian border. When Olivia tells Susan that she is under arrest for Jason`s murder, Susan appears in shock and when she is back at the station, she vehemently denies it. Octavio Pisano recently joined the cast of the NBC drama as undercover investigator Joe Velasco. Not much is known about the 36-year-old actor`s life away from the cameras, as he likes to keep his private life. Logically, he seems to point to Aidan as the murderer of Shannon and his own father. Olivia believes that Aidan found out that Shannon was pregnant and since he used a condom every time they had sex, Aidan must have thought Shannon was cheating on him. After killing Shannon, he realized that the last person she saw together was her father when Jason Connor caught her in the taxi, so he killed his father to cover up Shannon`s murder. However, the twist comes when the gun, although purchased by Jason Connor, is registered in Susan Coyle`s name. When they come to interrogate him, Susan and Brian suddenly disappear and tell a neighbor that they are leaving for Pennsylvania to arrange Shannon`s funeral.

Barry Coyle`s company confirms that he has been in Africa for 11 weeks and that Elliot Brian obtained a DNA sample at the MOE office, although he was later released as he was not the only suspect. Cragen is curious as to why both parents didn`t want Aidan and Shannon to be together and sends Elliot and Olivia to investigate the Connors.
While Debra Connor was nothing personal with Shannon, she assumed that Susan Coyle thought she was better than her because she always made excuses for her husband to be away to avoid spending time with her and Jason. Jason Connor is more sympathetic after spending time with Barry and meeting Shannon. Benson and Stabler learn that Shannon`s father, Barry Coyle, is on a business trip abroad, so they interview Shannon`s mother and brother, Susan and Brian. They deny knowing that someone is bothering Shannon or has anything to do with someone. The last time they heard from her was at 2:30 a.m. that day, when she called from her cell phone to tell them about other choir rehearsals. As his phone disappeared from his backpack, this indicates a personal attack. The team goes to the school to conduct interviews to find out what happened that day and decides to speak to choir teacher Steve Abruzzo first. The rehearsal lasted until 5 a.m. and while he doesn`t know where she went after that, he said his friend Lisa Faber could.
Shannon and Lisa went for coffee and separated at 6:00 a.m. Shannon took a taxi instead of the subway as usual because of the cold. She also confirmed that Shannon was not with anyone.
